MPEG – Moving Picture Experts Group – this ISO/IEC working group is in charge of the development of standards for coded representation of digital audio and video. MPEG has produced standards that have ushered in the digital media age, such as MPEG-1, MP3, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and more. MPEG is working on new generations of standards like Multimedia Service Platform technologies (MPEG-M), High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) and 3D Video and MPEG Media Transport (MMT).
Leonardo founded MPEG in 1988 and chairs the group.
DMP – Digital Media Project -a not-for-profit organisation with the mission to respect and promote rights and interests of value chain players to fully enjoy the benefits of digital media. DMP has developed the Interoperable DRM Platform (IDP) specification and released Chillout, the IDP open source software implementation.
CEDEO is a co-founder of DMP and Leonardo chairs the group.
dmin.it – Digital Media in Italia an interdisciplinary, open, non-profit group with the goal to define action areas that enable Italy to play a primary role in exploiting the global “digital media” phenomenon. dmin.it has produced a complete proposal with providing the technological, normative and governance tools.
Leonardo is a co-founder of dmin.it and chairs the group.
